Library Staff: Michelle Barsom Jan Barron The librarians at Bainbridge College Early County Library consider student instruction research techniques to be their primary focus. Students should not hesitate to inquire at the circulation desk if they need assistance. Circulation: There is no charge for a library card, and anyone may apply with proper identification. Bainbridge College students may check out an unlimited number of books, which are due 28-days after check out. Non-students are limited to checking out 2 items at a time for the 28-day period. Collection: The Library of Congress classification system is used to arrange the books in the collection. Books in the collection both at Early County and the main campus can be accessed through the GIL online catalog available from the library’s homepage on the college website at www.bainbridge.edu. If a student needs an item that is not available through the college website the librarians can request the item from another institution through either GIL Express or Interlibrary Loan. Unfortunately, at this time, community patrons can only check out books in the BCEC Library collection. GALILEO: GALILEO is an online virtual library service provided by the University System of Georgia at www.galilio.usg.edu. This system provides access to over 100 databases, indexing thousands of periodicals and scholarly journals, with over 2000 titles provided in full-text. It also includes reference resources, such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, and Georgia government documents. Computers: The library has 14 computers and a laser printer available for student use and remember that assistance is always available from the librarians. In addition there is a copy machine available for public use with a nominal per page copying fee. Note: A valid ID is required for accessing all library services. Children are not allowed. Cell phone use is prohibited.
